Room 2 will soon participate in the Hour of Code! I am still in the midst of organizing the plans and schedules for it, but I am hopeful that our students will soon get an opportunity to engage in beginning coding and computer science skills using our school's awesome Chrome Books! Think 5 and 6 year olds are too young to learn to code? Think again!

The Hour of Code is an annual event that takes place during Computer Science Education Week (December 4-15). This event highlights why "every student should have the opportunity to learn computer science. It helps nurture problem solving skills, logic and creativity. By starting early, students will have a foundation for success in any 21st-century career path," (hourofcode.com).

If there are any Room 2 parents who have skill sets in coding that would like to help teach our kids, please email me asap!
