The children participated in both unplugged and online lessons for coding. Their unplugged lesson involved a treasure hunt story- the children needed to find the path from their ship to the mermaid, to get the map, sail through the storm, go fishing, find the island, and then finally dig for the treasure! After gluing down arrows to find their path, students tried to act out the treasure hunt game on our big rainbow rug!
In computer lab, they played a game called Kodables, which was the online portion- similar to our arrow treasure hunt map. The kids did a great job and many of them were able to beat the beginning levels with ease. There might be some future computer science careers in our classroom!
