Update: 1/24/17: We had so much fun on our 100th day of school! Each child had such fun and creative hats to represent one hundred. Take a look at some of our fun actives.
- Making an art project using 1-0-0
- Counting and making necklaces using 100 Fruit Loops
- Walking in a parade to show off our 100th Day hats to three different third grade classrooms
- Meeting our Big Buddies to make a 100 book
- Drawing self-portraits of ourselves at 100 years old
Tuesday, January 23rd will be the 100th day of school! To celebrate this fun day, the children will have activities that are "100th Day" themed. At home, the children will also create their very own 100th day hat project with their families. Please have your child creatively decorate a hat (any size, shape, or color), with one hundred items. *** Important: Please have YOUR CHILD practice the counting to one hundred. He/she can sort items into groups of ten and then practice counting by tens also (10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100). This should be a fun interactive project for your child. It is not intended for parents to do all of the work for the student, but please do help them with things like gluing (especially if hot glue is involved).
Students will wear their 100th Day hats on Tuesday, January 23rd, and we will have a 100th day parade to visit our Big Buddies to show off our fun hats! Sample ideas are below. Letters will also be sent home.
