Many of you have heard that flu season is approaching, and unfortunately the bugs are hitting some families at Woodbury. Many students in various grades have been sent home due to illnesses and fevers. If your child is sick, please consult our district website for our health services information. This will provide a guideline for you to follow in regards to school attendance.
Remember, the best defense against infection is HAND WASHING. Our class has talked about that hand washing should include lots of soap lather and hands should be scrubbed for as long as the alphabet song. Please keep a close eye on your children's health, and continue to remind them to wash their hands thoroughly with soap and water.
In an effort to keep the germs at bay, the students occasionally wipe their desks down with anti-bacterial wipes such as Clorox or Lysol wipes. Now that flu season is upon us, I'd like to keep the class in a routine of sanitizing their desks more frequently to keep our kids as healthy as possible. However, our stock of wipes have run low. If you can, please consider donating Clorox or Lysol wipes to our classroom. We have plenty of baby wipes which are great for cleaning dirty hands, but since they are not anti-bacterial, they are not as effective for eliminating germs.
Thank you to those of you who have helped provide wipes at the start of the year. Also, thank you to those of you who have helped provide Kleenex boxes-- the sniffly noses in our class have definitely made use of those!
