Students will create self-esteem portraits. Each child wrote 20 or more things they are proud of themselves for. They wrote these statements on the inside of a silhouette. Then each child brainstormed a positive affirmation about each of their classmates to encourage to him/her.

It was wonderful to see every student thinking of kind and compassionate words of encouragement to write to their classmates. This art project empowered the students to think of reasons why they should value themselves and others.

The students used our new watercolor paint sets (donated by DonorsChoose and the Disneyland CREATE Grant), to paint their pieces.
