First Day of School

Today was a great first day of school! The kids did a great job practicing first time listening, showing compassion and cooperation towards others, and exhibiting respect. We learned a few facts about Mrs. Dyer, took a school tour, and completed a first day of school writing page. Tomorrow will be another day of fun! Remember— Thursday, 7/17 and Friday, 7/18 are both early-out days. Dismissal is at 1:17 PM.

Classroom Sneak Peek 2024

Welcome to Mrs. Dyer’s third grade class! School starts Wednesday, July 17th! Every teacher has been on campus and busy preparing for the new school year and I am so excited to meet every one of my new students. The third grade teachers have many great things planned for this year and we can't wait to get started. I'm sure students and parents alike are anxious to see the new classrooms and so... here's a sneak peek at Room 14!

I can't wait to meet all of my new students Wednesday morning! All of your desks, chairs, folders, and books are all here waiting for you! Be sure to double-check the aerial photo to know where to line up first thing Wednesday morning! Our class lines up near the basketball courts! Look for a light aqua colored balloon tied to a chair!

Jogathon Pledges 2024

UPDATE 3/16/24: The kids did great with their Jogathon run! They also loved cheering on their PK Little Buddies during their run. Medals have already been passed out, and the remaining Jogathon prizes will be ordered and distributed as soon as shipments arrive. Thank you to the families who donated to our fundraiser. Thanks to your efforts, the school achieved its $80,000 goal! This helps to pay for the highly favorited STEAM Lab lessons! AND— our class was the highest fundraiser in the grade level and so we will be earning a class prize too! Pictures from the event are posted below.

Woodbury families, our annual Jogathon is coming soon on Wednesday, March 13th. This is our school’s largest and most important fundraiser! Funds raised help to pay for school assemblies, STEAM Lab, art programs, classroom supplies, and social events. In 2020, Mrs. Dyer’s class was in FIRST PLACE with a record-breaking $4,350!!! Please help us achieve first place again!

All students are highly encouraged to gather as many Jogathon pledges as possible! This is a big fundraiser for our PTA and the proceeds generated benefit our students and our entire school greatly.

  • This is our biggest fundraiser and one of the most exciting things our PTA does all year!

Below are photos from previous years.

Math Games

Thanks to parent donations, our class has access to games like Adsumudi — a mental math game, sets of Jenga blocks, and to decks of cards that can be used to figure out equations utilizing addition and subtraction, and for some students— multiplication! In class, we played Addition War using standard decks of cards, which is a game that students could easily play at home if families have cards as well! We also played a multiplication game called Circles and Stars using simple dice! With the Jenga blocks, the kids got to know one another by answer questions corresponding to each block!

lets give thanks

Wednesday, November 27th through Friday, November 29th is Thanksgiving Holiday. The school will be closed. Please enjoy this time with your family and be reminded of all that we have to be thankful for.

I am personally thankful for my amazing family, friends, and coworkers. I am also thankful to have this opportunity to teach such a wonderful group of third graders. I feel so blessed.

Today, your child took home a handmade turkey bag. Inside are notes written by your children; they are notes about people and/or things they are thankful for. Please enjoy them together as a family. :0)

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
